Books

These days I read a lot less than I’d like to. Because of this the reading list is growing much faster than the read books list. There are some books I enjoyed though:

Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari “Capitalism and Schizophrenia” - introduced me to many crucial concepts and postmodernism in general. I’ve read both parts cover to cover, though I don’t think I understood half of it. Despite this the book had immense influence on my worldview

Nick Land "Fanged Noumena" - a quite controversial figure (=dumb, with dumb views), however I’ve felt a strong urge to get to know him better. This is a collection of his works from before he became that cringe, but the quality of the text varies a lot. There are some mediocre philosophical essays but also some great poetry (‘Circuities’ come to mind). Also some interesting worldbuilding concepts to be found

Rebecca F. Kuang “The Poppy War” - Because I was reading so much philosophy and politics I asked a friend to recommend some fiction. This was a great pick, got through it really quickly and felt quite immersed in the story. I hope to get to more books in the series soon

Frank Herbert “Dune” - a science fiction classic, with some outstanding detail in its worldbuilding. The first book is great but I especially enjoyed the later ones, like “God Emperor of Dune”
